I was without ice for the last 2 weeks when I went down to Acapolco Mexico. But now I'm back in beautiful BC and nice to see the ice again  We have been on well over a month now.

We have a foot and a half of ice, but we also have a couple feet of snow on top.  Overflow is horrendous(at least six inches), making it impossible for a vehicle.  >:( ATV's are out of the question, and snowmobiles are iffy.  What with the overflow, the sloppy snow clogs up the track.  If you happen to get into a "honeyhole" and lose track of time, you have one hell of a job to get moving again!!  Walking out, tugging your sled and equipment is a real beotch, to say the least, but it seems to be the only way to do it right now.  Needless to say, my usual winter passion is suffering as a consequence.  Even the beer does not taste as good at home or in a friend's shop while discussing our plight!!!

I'd rather be picking grubs than dodging fleas, but hey, more power to ya :)  JK, rabbits are good stuff - I'll be out next weekend for them and grouse....patiently awaiting the inevitable icing.......

Maybe I'll sharpen my mower blades this week, or write a book about ice-fishing. It'll come, fellas. Hopefully before we get pounded with the snow in March, which I have a sneaking suspicion is gonna surprise us......

I will be looking for your book in the Fiction section of Barnes and Noble. At least some of us enjoy alternatives to ice-fishing, and I can't believe how many people on this site seem to have nothing else to do but wait for ice. Play the hand that's dealt is what I always say. I will be shooting some more rabbits this coming weekend, and not even thinking about ice-fishing while I am. I enjoy both of these activities equally.
The Ultimate Warrior is possessed with great power from the heavens above ! Against the mighty lake trout and pike and schools of crappie, the power of the WARRIOR will always ......... PREVAIL !!!
