Drummond Island Help

My uncle has a place on the gem of the Huron and after poking around a little bit I see they have some pretty good ice fishing up there. 2 questions I have are. One, where are the Middle grounds located? 2, any general tips on catching Whitefish? I have never done it before. TIA
