I love when you take someone out who has never been Ice fishing before.  Just passing down knowledge that was taught/shown to you and then seeing them catch their fish through the Ice...But the absolute best is their face the fist time that ice cracks/pops under their feet...PRICELESS.   Gets me every time.

My buddy and I played a trick on a  first-timer that came with us. We knew the lake was heaving and booming, told him before we got there if you EVER hear a BOOM or CRACK, run like heck....the ice is giving way.
Fishing away in the shack, when *BOOM* a loud one....he went out thru the door like a rocket, dragging gear and everything with him. Found him sitting in the truck.

Yah that first time someone new hears or feels that cracking sound or movement is something to be seen.  Was on the ice with a few of these folks one time and the bobbers all started moving to the left after hearing the noise.  Even got us looking around.  Driving back at the end of the day and we found the pressure ridge that was created.  Got our attention.
