Suggestions on spoon boxes.
« on: Dec 11, 2021, 01:23 PM »
Looking for suggestions on alternatives for spoon boxes. Not a fan of this style as the spoons get all tangled up together.

Cheers

I use a Clam spoon box and it has been good so far.  I was a little skeptical of the hinges and latches holding up, but it’s around 3years old with no issues.  No more tangles.

My son has a similar model to this one.  He has about a brazillion spoons for salmon and trout fishing, keeps them organized and no banging into each other.  https://spooncrankbox.com/product/spoonbox-ca

I use a regular Plano box and put the foam in it that you would find in tool boxes and then just cut slits into the foam.  Spoons stay in pretty well and the hooks don't seem to get tangled as much.

That's what I did for spoons, seems to work well

Plan-D Max Box

I don't have one if these. But I saw a video of someone using it for ice spoons.  I just can't find that specific video.

I use the clam spoon boxes for jigging raps and some chain droppers, but like the clam slim box and larger baits the 3600 Gama slot G box. To keep them from banging around I went to Menards and bought foam window insulation 1/4” wide.   Put on lid and holds them in place.
