Lite flite for overlapping holes
« on: Oct 31, 2020, 11:24 PM »

Thinking of maybe getting a 8 inch for tip up fishing. Can you overlap safely with a 6 inch with lazer blades never tried it. Or should I just get and 8 inch? would you get the lite flite $180 bucks or a hand auger $90. Already have a clam plate and 6 inch lite flite I will only do this a handful of times but 2 years ago lost a pike at a 6 inch hole due to turning his head not so much the hole size. Still hurts  It should be easy to switch from 6-8 with the lite flites.

Lite flight overlaps holes quite nicely. Very good for this.

Indeed it does. I have the 8” LF and I have no problem overlapping holes.

  • Ice fishing a sport, or just reason to buy stuff?

I have had a couple of different makes of 10 inch augers, both have the centering point both worked quite well. Can't wait for the 10" ion this year. Why overlap 10" holes you ask...try 50 pound lake trout.

As others have said, the Lite Flite overlaps holes no problem. I cut two spearing holes with mine last winter, about 75 holes all overlapped.

Unless you need it now, you could probably get the LF for cheaper than $180 if you can wait for a sale. I got my 8" for $135 in Jan from Glens.
