what is the story on this? anyone know? 100 bucks a fish seems like an unbelievable amount.

I would say the Ind DNR has put a bounty on them to keep them out of Ind waters. Says they are harmful to endangered mussel population

My wife showed me that story, but I think it's old news.
And I didn't know there were black carp here.
Shows how much I know.

I'm pretty sure you posted the story :)

The Illinois DNR is the one paying the bounty. No idea if it's still valid or not

Black carp are fairly rare. Hence the bounty. Silver, bighead, common, and grass carp are much more numerous

Illinois offers the $100 bounty.
I bowfish the Wabash River and shoot asian carp. Never shot or seen a black carp and hope I never do!
If you’ve never been in waterways where the asian carp have taken over, I’ll tell you first hand it’s not good!
