The author took a lot of liberties in that story. The cited astrophysicist didn't use the term "little ice age," he only noted that there's an 11 year cycle of sunspot activity and we're in the downward trend. To infer that it'll lead to a decades long cycle like what happened 450 years ago is a huge jump. This is why I don't take my science from a Christian publication whose mantra is "God is everywhere—even in the news. That’s why we view every news story through the lens of faith."
