I took a ride there on the 1st and saw a couple tents way off to the right of the launch. Did not go out and check the ice.  :unsure:

Thanks for the update Zeker on Balsam.  I might head there this weekend.  I also hear guys were on Whitney Point Res and Long pond.  I'll post on those if I do a drive by or hear more from a legit source.

Balsam is good to go, always has the most ice in this area. Whitney point has 5-6 of ice.
