Hey Guys,
Just bought an old Jayco pop up for $150 to turn into my new permanent shack. My original plan was to strip it down to the trailer and build the new shack on top. However after a lot of research I’m considering using the base of the pop up and framing out the walls on top of that. Either way I will scrap the roof and put in a insulated metal roof. What do you guys recommend? I have a wood burner to put in for heat, as well as a solar panel to charge the batteries. It will mostly be used for day trips but I am planning on building 2 fold up bunks for weekend trips. My main reason for tearing it down to the frame and building new is to utilize the V at the front of the trailer for more space and also better handling while trailering. Is it worth keeping those little 1/4 walls and building off them? Or just tear it down and start new? Thanks for the input, pictures to follow
