The 10” Ion x. It’s awesome! Just not as awesome as the strike. in any test we put it through. They’re close enough you’d haveto have the two side by side to see. Also the ring at the bottom of the Ion broke already but my buddy said there service has been more than gracious

If I was buying a new auger I was looking at the Ion and Eskimo Propane. I guess I was unaware of the issues with propane as the friend I fish with has had one for 2 years with no issues. Definitely prefer the strike master though, looks like a very solid product.

Truth be told I don’t have it yet, my post may have sounded like I did?  but have had both the new Ion and strike on every trip I’ve been on this year. Both 10”. Both awesome too! The strike cuts 2 holes to 1 over the Ion no problem. My local small business shop sold out of all of them. I’m waiting to buy off them. I can’t drill holes this season so it’s not a problem

I have a Nils 8" run off a drill for inside the hut and if I am on foot, use the Jiffy 10' gas Stealth  of the wheeler with a Caddy auger.  I wish the Nils had a 10 at the time I bought the 8.  It works really well with the drill.  It's great that most the Electrics have/offer the 10".  I see Jiffy has one also, I haven't heard of anyone using it yet.

So Frank you went with the Strike? Im thinking in the future I will trade the ION for the Strike. I need something I can TOTALLY depend on and cut to my liking. I use the absolute crap out of my ION, and not 100% impressed. Maybe I  just push it to it's limits, I dunno.Haven't tried a strike yet but I'm hearing good things.

I have ordered the strike yes, it drills 2 holes for every 1 the ionx does and I haven’t seen one have something break yet.

I have a 10” Strikemaster. I have only had it this year, but so far it’s the best hunting/fishing related purchase I have made since my muzzleloader. I love it.

I did a review on it a while back, but what really sold me on it was 1: all the complaints about 10” Ions - I hate fishing an 8” hole. 2: a few you tubers I follow who fish mostly Manitoba Canada swore up and down a few years ago that electric would never work in their ice fishing conditions. This year they did a review basically saying they were wrong and that the Strikemaster 10” electric was great for them.

Only issue I have had is getting into some slush and it starting to slow down. In a really bad slush situation where there are layers of ice/water/slush you’re going to be in trouble. That being said I don’t think anything but a gas powered auger will work in those situations, and honestly we rarely if ever run into them.

I got mine for 500 in sale around Xmas. They still don’t seem to be as popular as the Ion, but as AA said the Strikemaster seems to be superior for 10” holes from what I have seen

To your point about slush..even gas powered augers can have issues in that stuff.

just figured I'd give you all an update. Since dropping my Auger off with Wayne, I just gave him a sales slip (receipt off Amazon) and he took care of the rest. He contacted Eskimo for me, got me a new power head and another 5 year warranty!
