CT River Setbacks
« on: Jan 23, 2019, 05:05 PM »
Was wondering if any of the setbacks on the NH side have good walleye/pike fishing(mainly walleye)? Any info would be appreciated.

River Rd across from Sanborn circle there is a cable across the trail and down the hill you go.

Thank you! Have you ever caught walleye there?

The CT river def has walleye and pike everywhere. Find safe ice and some deep enough water that will hold fish and you have a great chance. I never accessed the piermont set back so im no help there. Good Luck!

Was thinking of going Sunday. How much do you think the rain will affect the setback? Never ice fished off of rivers.

Think about it with all this rain and snow melt the river will rise making what ice there was in the setbacks unsafe do you really want to go there?

Setbacks take it hard when it rains, use caution and Piermont can produce walleye at dawn/dusk.

Thanks for the input everyone. I am just going to wait another week and try it when I’m more certain it is safe.

Good move I don't think it would be safe this weekend.

Any current info on ice conditions for this setback?  NH License only correct? Not sure what exactly the first highway bridge is.  New to this area for ice fishing... lots of new rules to figure out!!!

A VT resident license is fine BUT a Vt nonresident license is not any good on the setbacks.
