What to do now?
« on: Dec 16, 2018, 02:13 PM »
Poles have new line. All hooks have been sharpened. Batteries have been charged. Auger has new blades. Shiners are swimming in bait tank. Worms are pissing the wife off in the fridge. And I’m sitting here looking at unsafe ice :/ twittling my thumbs waiting to get out.

Nice! Right on the lake.

Can you ice fish right in front of your house when you have good ice?

Until then, its less than 3 hours to Otsego Lake or half that time to Lake Cadillac or Mitchell.

Good Luck all

Same boat here. I think it makes it worse being able to see it but you can't touch it lol. I have built a few ice rods in the past and due to some unfortunate events I have to remake my favorite rod I ever built... so I have that to do. Might be able to sneak back out around Tues-wed if the ice hardens up and we didn't lose too much. I suppose there's other crap my gf wants me to do around the house too ::)

Funniest thing about ice fishing for me is when people who know nothing about ice activities try to warn me about the dangers of the ice...

Some of the best pan fishing comes right in front of my house.

Have been tempted to make a run to Lake Cadillac. Maybe this weekend if everything holds up!

Just got finished repairing some holes in my brand new FX200 (snagged it while moving it). All the rods have new line. I have four of my go to lures ready to go. Big week planned in the UP in January. Sitting and waiting for my ice to hold more than my dog.

Yea I'm hoping for next weekend in Livingston. My main lake is mostly open now because of the river but there's other lakes that should hold ice cover

Raining and warm here in Grayling. Drove by Lk. Margrethe and water on the ice but quite a few people out on the ice. About five to six inches of good ice. Gonna be cold tonight so it will firm up and be slick for sure. Might have to check it out tomorrow. ;)
Tried ice fishing with Dynamite, UGH... where's my shanty?
