Rewrite it, but leave out the part about shooting an eagle.    I thought it was a great story, and I really got a kick out of it, but I can see how others would take offense to your closing comment.  jmho

     I liked your story but as I was telling another guy on another thread about the story was; You will catch more fish 8-lb plus for the rest of your life, that goes without saying, but you will never be able to get another "Eagle took my Lake trout and my pack basket Story"  That is a classic and you should consider yourself lucky to have that memory and be able to tell that story. Just my opinion.

Man i'm 32 and i have been fishing tunk for many years putting in my time for a beauty like this at that point in time when that fffer grabbed that fish i could have bitten his head off  if he was close enough!!

I got about 35 minutes of fight and 5 minutes of seeing him and "you guessed it shes gone" ............AND MY BASKET!!

Man do you realize how lucky you are to be able to have an eagle THAT close?!?  People go their whole lives without ever seeing one, and you got the greatest viewing of all time.  Consider yourself lucky, stop your D$@M whining... you got your traps and basket back didn't you? 
There will be other fish, but there will probably NEVER be another eagle experience quite like that!

Thats why we throw stinky ol perch on the ice   happens all the time up here   Cross lake the worst for eagles stealing fish  give them the Perch!
