Lake St Clair Ice
« on: Jan 23, 2018, 08:59 AM »
I’m from the west side of the state heading that way the first weekend in Feb. How is the ice looking after the rain and warm up so far? The bite still been hot? Just trying to stay up dated.

The bite is still on from the last I heard. Unsure how the ice will be after this week. Sportsmen's Direct puts out a report pretty regularly that is usually current and addresses different parts of the lake. Will keep an eye out for it and post it up here:  https://www.iceshanty.com/ice_fishing/index.php?topic=350064.0

Good call Rusty. A buddy of mine informed of that. I always forget about it.

Also, Somebody posted this guy on here once, I don't remember who but I like his report. Puts one out about once a week, very informative.

picked these up Sunday from7:30 to 12:30 in the area of Jefferson and Crocker
If it passes the ruler test, put it in the ice chest. Hook it and cook it.

Fished metro not much luck. 8-125p. 2 keepers moved around a lot. We were out by the shove to all the way back in close. Marked many few takers. Changed location over by geno lots of dinks and 5 keepers. Tough day wind was howling pretty good. On a side note the bait shop that I will not name said to not bring 4 wheelers because of crazy ice but I can tell u everywhere I drilled there was 12in plus of nice clear ice. Def would have transpiration next time. Still fun to fish a new place.  Mark

Hope the OP had a good weekend on LSC.  Those are some nice hauls DT.  I agree on the minnows to keep 'em around if they're crushing feeding but then using the efficiency of a beaded spoon to help with numbers.
