Works good for trout :) I tip it with worm.......don't jig too agressivley, I find it works better if I jig shorter, quicker strokes

Excellent lure!

One of my "go to" lures for 'eyes.

You should have great success w/ it!

Tip it with a couple waxies for perch, or a minnow head for eyes.

I use them for all fish. I just change sizes. I catch crappies on them when I tip them with a half minnow. I use some of the bigger ones for trout. I usually dont tip them for trout but I like to use the ones with glow on them. Walleyes tend to like them with a minnow on them also.

Best lure I ever tried, was looking for the forage-minnow....didn't have them. So I bought the buck-shot, but was skeptical!
WOW at least 400 perch, a dozen bass, and probably half dozen trout....on the same buck-shot. The red wore off the hook after 200 fish, finally re-tied it for safety's sake! Only lure I have had good  success with this year......and then again if it catches nearly all the fish that show up.......how could I try something different? Heck with that.

Best thing I ever bought......after the vpg ;D

ANyone use the buckshot dropper rigs for perch/crappies/walleyes???  What lb test do you use and how do you feel the bite?  Do the perch hit hard enough that you can feel the thump?  What about crappies grabbing the bait and moving up like they do, how do you tell their on?

Our perch hit like little freight trains and walleye some bite light others clobber it. We dont have crappie in our area closest crappie lake 4.5 hrs away.I use usally a good 8lb test line. Since we have alot of walleye in our lake. No8 graphie loomis blank on fast tip 36 in 4 eyelit rods so you can pretty much feel any touch on your line.

The buckshot rattle spoon is defiantly a good lure for perch, walleye and trout.
I have even caught pike with it.
If you find the fish comming up to the lure but not bitting it turn the spoon into a dropper rig.
The rattles with attract the fish and the small bait below should seal the deal. ;)

Has anyone tried the new buckshot rattle spoon designed for dirty water?
If so how much better did it work than a regular buckshot rattle spoon say in glow? ???

I think it works best for perch or walleye with a minnow head or a minnow tail. It is definately a killer when they are atively biting.
It seems to go from zero to hero all some have to do is lie.

Best bait yet that i have used for anything.  One thing i always do is change out the treble hook for a single or double.  The factory hook i feel is to big and can be tough to get out when the dinks or gills are biting.  They tend to get all three points in there small mouths some how. just my 2 cents

for perch I`m fond of the 3/8oz in chart glow.northland dropper(1hook-not treble) in 1.5"tipped with an eye(perch).I pull up a foot or two off bottom& jiggle it down, pausing every few inches.I`ve found there to be no subtle nibbling with this spoon. They pound it pretty good.I also pound the spoon on the bottom.try to maintain contact with it.If things are`nt going well(not often)I`ll tip with a niagara head & maybe a couple spikes.Good luck, hope this helps

I was out early this year with the firetiger 1/4 oz rattle spoon and had a great day pike fishing.

I just tipped it with a frozen minnow, and twitched every once and awhile...

all caught on the rattle spoon

I have done well for Perch with the 1/16 oz glow perch color tippet with 5 to 7 spikes. The jig calls in fish from far away and I even think it gets fishes attention even if they are shut off. I have many and love them. Just don't over jig them or not to aggressively. Hogger ON Rick

We have had lots of cold and snow...  :-\

But I am going out tomorrow no matter what the conditions are.

Good with your new purchases...and yes...do not over-jig them.

Thats how I find them to be as well, jig agressively, then let it sit dead still till you get a hit.

I have added a split ring with a couple of blades, and when I know that there are eyes around I just lift it off bottom about 2 ft and then I jiggle the crap out of it then drop it back down. Usually with a 2.5 inch shiner on it.
When Hell freezes over !!!!  I'll be there icefishing!!!
