finally scratched the itch , got out for the first time this season on south pond in brookfield , 5 inches of solid black ice got there around 12:30 was all set up by 1 , was kinda slow first flag came at 1:45 , landed a super fat 19 inch 5 lb lm bass , released alive and well after a few pics ,and my only other flag came at 3:10 landed a 14 inch rainbow , and did I mention it was snowing the whole time , not a bad first day out at all

Nice, I was right near you on the back end of Quabog that same day. I've always had the best luck with Sound Pond though on some of the not so cold winter's we've had the past couple years I don't always get to do it since South seems to be one of the last to freeze and first to thaw.

yeah I know , had to take advantage of this cold spell haha depending on how snow mother nature sends our way , I may go back to south pond friday or saturday
