Ice armor suit
« on: Feb 09, 2006, 07:08 AM »
I was wondering through cabelas bargain cave and noticed they have the ice armor suit on sale for 239.99.  does anyone have one, if so are they worth it?  i was thinking of buying one.  They are also having some good deals on ice augers.  Exspecially Eskimo.

I bought one last week from Cabela's. It arrived last night and my wife laughed as I wore it around the house to help break it in.

It has not made it to the ice yet, but It looks really confortable, The pants exspecially, they have great padding and are comfortable with tons of room for odds and ends

I'm not crazy about nylon i don't think it holds up to good and you don't want to get to close to a stove. Take a look at Carhartt Extreme warm waterproof and almost indestructible.

No colour options...that is the one thing I did not like about it, the second is that you have to buy the full suit. I only really needed the pants...But the jacket is nice

I bought one earlier this winter and can honestly say that I was a Jacka$$ for waiting this long.  I've fished kneeling a bunch of times in standing water this year and have yet to get wet.  Not to mention a couple weekends ago I was fishing in the wind and rain with Slipbob and Crappiedaddie and never once went inside the Fish Trap Pro.  A great suit that delivers what it advertises.  Heres a couple pic's

This is just my opinion on this product but with Cabelas having them on sale for $239, I'm seriously thinking of buying another set to have later on down the road, or have one for fishing out of the boat.

Any other questions feel free to "PM" me.

Tight Lines All,
Steve.

PS....for sizing ideas I'm 5' 9" 180lbs and the large set fits loosely with ample room for movement and layering......again INCREDABLE system

Scott,
Thats what I was thinking at first but let me tell ya, when your out in the wind and rain you'll be amazed at how water proof this set is.  I'll probably look like a goof fishing out of my boat this year in it but at least I'll be a dry Goof.  This stuff beats the stitching out of the "waterproof" stuff the Military issues us.  Hmmmm, maybe Clam Corp will make a camo suit??

You going to Crappie shack this weekend?  I NEED to get up there!!!  SOON!

Take care Scott, Tight Lines,
Steve

Jrelaxin.......Buy now while its cheap and sizes are available.  You won't be sorry.  Heck if your a size large and don't like it,  I'll buy if from you!!!

The silver Crappie truck just might head that way.  Looks like I'll have Friday off from work so I might have a chance for the FNCL meeting.  All depends on how much I get moved into the new place these next couple days.
HWF, Trophy is clean and looks great where its at  ;D ;D

Jrelaxin......You will not be sorry. I'm planning on using mine this spring trolling for Trout and Salmon on Lake Ontario
