Battery ( FL-8 ) question
« on: Dec 02, 2017, 06:59 AM »
The battery that came with my FL-8 Genz pack has a plastic "shield" over the negative post that looks as though it "might" slide or pop off to expose the terminal ( I haven't tried real hard yet to remove) l...and I need to get it off...I think. The reason? I just  purchased the battery charge indicator and need to attach it to the post, and with this shield,  it is almost impossible to do. It is recommended that the indicator not be connected when not in use because it will put a drain on the battery. So I will be attaching a couple of alligator clips to attach to post when using it. Any suggestions would be helpful. I do not have this issue with the positive terminal. Thanks in advance.

go for it bud.my indicator will drain the battery for sure it stays lit and on when connected,i have to remember to disconnect it after charging everytime or it will kill the battery overnight.mine came wired right into the stock vex battery connector terminal.i personally don't like it really.. should have  a on off  switch.

Thanks Dr...sounded like the right "prescription" to me too. I actually have an exacto knife that I can use to cut off the top of the shield to expose what I need without trying to muscle the entire cover off...at least that's my plan.
