At a buck a piece compared to what those others in the links provided are priced at, I'll deal with TnT and even if I drop a couple and they chip, I'm still further ahead.

When did you purchase from him?  Ive talked with a  few people that have bought them the past few weeks to a month and they have had nothing but positive to say about the quality and durability of the TnT products.

I just ordered a batch today, some of the rapala finishes and some smiley face jigs for the wife. i think any time you drop some jigs on a hard surface the paint will chip off. my problem is the hemostats seem to get them chipped up pretty good, but at a buck or so a piece and supporting a local Michigander in a business Ill give them a try

What do you guys think about putting a clear coat over them? Like a nail polish the guys use for painting their own jigs?

For the hemostats problem take and get some plasitdip and put the ends in that to build up a little and u won't scrap the paint off the jigs as much

I used them a dozen plus times last year and never had any issues with the paint flaking off.  It's possible they changed their process since they first sold them.  I've been very happy with them overall hooks have stood up very well so far and paint is in great shape.
