Vehicle partially through on Magog....
« on: Jan 26, 2017, 08:08 PM »
8pm - Just heard on the scanner, (on the F&W frequency) that a man driving on Lake Memphremagog went through, he was able to get out of his vehicle, which was now partially submerged, called 911, and headed for what he thought was an island somewhere on the lake.

He thinks he might be on the Canadian side but he isn't sure.

Update at 9pm - Dispatch just said that the Northern Rescue Task Force(?) had him and he was safe. Whew!!!!

Another risky year for venturing out on the ice......Sigh!

Ice was garbage off eagle point Sunday when we got off.
That white shaley ice isn't strong stuff.

this has been a very deadly year so far. I'm pretty much done for this year unless some serious cold comes down from the NW.

I'm going to put it out there that at this time there is no ice in VT that should have vehicles on it.

There is painfully little that is even safe to walk on. :(
May the fish be with you.

I remember hearing the 911 dispatcher mention Eagles point during the rescue attempt. I think the guy was in that area......
