IceShanty YouTube Channel
« on: Feb 02, 2017, 07:59 AM »
Hi All,

A couple of us started this up last season. Videos of trips, gatherings, how to videos, etc.

If you have time check it out and subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMcBs2blCkRP5_tjgz9p8nA

With enough subscribers we hope to pickup sponsors to do giveaways, gear reviews, upload more content etc.

Thanks for your time

Just curious if Scott (iceshanty) has approved this.   Thinking using his logo / site name might be of interest to him .

Hi,
Yes there are a couple from trips this season. As interest and Subs increase, so will the content.

Just curious if Scott (iceshanty) has approved this.   Thinking using his logo / site name might be of interest to him .

Scott has given us his blessing =)

We hope to see it grow. The more subs we have the better odds we have of getting sponsors. This would allow us to possibly get newer gear (rods, reels, pop-up, tackle) before its released and do reviews on for you guys to see. Give aways etc will also become possible. But we need you guys to subscribe to make that happen.

IMO Content always comes first. It sucks as you have to put so much effort into it but people subscribe to good content. Looks like its off to a good start!

We hope to put out videos of trips, gear, and how to's. That should provide a steady stream of content. But we need people to subscribe to make it worth while. We want to do it, we just need you guys to show us you want it. =)

Coming from a very regular youtube watcher, you will need some sort of niche to make it. There's thousands of people who just post videos of their day fishing and have less than 100 subs. You have to do something different to attract the masses.

I am subbed, have been since last year I believe. I have noticed the videos have loud and annoying music throughout them. I just move on to the next video when I hear that. I want to hear people talk, not listen to music or stare at a muted video.

Product reviews for ice gear, how to's, and some videos with someone talking and explaining what is going on and why they are doing what they do are things to look into. Also maybe do some jigging and explaining equipment and techniques, there's tens of thousands of videos of people pulling in tipup line.

Sorry to be the devil's advocate, but just having the ice shanty name and posting 2 minute videos of pictures or someone pulling in tipup line is not going to get you subs and sponsors.

This is So True..    I am very active in the "YouTube community".    Good editing and Great content gets and keeps subscribers.   (Not saying that the videos posted are not either the above as I haven't watched any of them, But If you are wanting subscribers, that is what it takes).

Also keep I mind that producing quality videos is a full time job in itself. For a lot of the big YouTube guys, YouTube is their paycheck and full time job.

If you don't have one, a GoPro is what a lot of them use and I've seen people rig them up for underwater water cameras and the resolution is sweet.
