Where do the little buggers go during the day? Anyone figured out how to find/catch them in daylight hours? Old guys like me can't stay out as late as I once could!

They really don't "go" anywhere. They just become less active. If you fish in deeper water, 60 feet or more, and jig right off the bottom during the day you can usually pick up a burbot or 2. I've caught as many as 5-6 during the day lake trout fishing and they are usually pretty good size.
My wife knows more about fishing then you!

A few years ago on Flaming Gorge I set up in the river channel south of Buckboard and got 50 plus in the day. 90' of water and they bit all day on a tube jig with a dead salted minnow. Lasted for 2 days. We put some other folks on them and they got a bunch to. Have not been back since don't know if it repeatable.

My biggest ling was on a sunny day about 11:30 am on a small perch size minnow on Boysen  1981.  It was 48 inches and weighted 15.75 lbs.  It was a fluke I know but still wow
