Hummingbird ice 35 review
« on: Jan 11, 2009, 05:51 AM »
I tried my new ice 35 yesterday and i am pretty impressed with it performance. I was using the my aqua view and the flasher at the same time and the separation was excellent. The zoom feature is going to take alittle getting used to its not the same as the vex. I was around guys using their vexs and the wasn't any interference. Overall for 299.00 its a great units.

Tight lines!!

I used mine three times without any issues.  The zoom is awesome once you get used to it.  I went to check the battery life on Friday morning and when I did the battery indicator line was by the 6 on the 1X ring.  Yesterday it was not reading correct depths or marking jigs.  I called Humminbird and they are sending me a replacement unit no questions asked.  I just send back mine in the same box with their postage paid return label.

I am very familiar with flashers but the zoom on the Humminbird took me a while to get used to also.  But, I remember the first day I tried to figure out the zoom on the LX-5, that took a while also being it was adjustable.  After using the Humminbird a few times I have it figured out, it is pretty slick!

I picked up a Humminbird Ice 35 today for $200 and can't wait to try it out. I never had a Flasher Ice Unit like this before so any help would be appreciated.
I will Fish & Hunt until I am not able to do it anymore !!!

I'm thinking about getting the ice-35. I know a lot of the information online is a matter of preference but will I regret the hummingbird over a vex or marcum?

No. I have and have had marcum, zercom, lowrance, vex, and bird. I like the bird the best in terms of low end electronics.
