Just a pointer with Colby, if the weather is crap and nasty fish it......if there isnt a cloud in the sky or even partly cloudy weather dont bother. I have had days where flags are left and right during a storm......days like today i was out with not a single flag between two people from 7 to noon. Its totally weather dependent. If your into the whole fish all day for one fish colby is the place.

every time i made a trip up there i was lucky to even catch one fish. the last time on colby is was raining hard and there were 3 of us and had 1 flag in 6 hours. the time before that there was 2 of us and we had 2 flags and landed one 16 inch bow. still a nice lake and good access but the fish dont seem to cooperate through the ice. every local i have talked to told me to come up in the summer and night fish and you will have a blast.

Got one today. It's no 8 lb broodstock, but a nice bonus in addition to the laker action today.

Both Hemlock and Canadice have decent populations of Landlocked Salmon in them.  Both are over south of Rochester.

DEC stopped putting Landlocks in both Hemlock and Canadice a few years ago.  You might hit a fish that has been thee fro a while.

Hey guys, I've been fishing for landlocks quite a bit this year. It'sb known to fish the upper part of the water column,  but what depth has worked best for you? I tend to set tip ups at about 6, 7, 8 feet and then a few at 2, 3 4 feet and I've noticed  more action from deeper set lines. Just curious about others experiences

The ones I've caught this year were about 5-7' under the ice. My leader are at least five feet and I usually have the entire length beneath the ice.

colby is more or less I put and take fishery for landlocked. they stock it heavily in the fall with broodstock and how long catchable numbers last depends on fishing pressure. early in the season it can be great but colby is got pounded this year with the lack of ice elsewhere so all that taken into consideration it currently would not be my top pick. schroon on the other hand always seems to produce
