Garbage on the ice!
« on: Feb 19, 2016, 08:15 AM »
So i went fishing back to the same place for the 3rd evening in a row to find that someone had been fishing in the holes i had drilled previously sometime yesterday.  Not for a second mad that someone took advantage of pre-drilled holes but i sure as hell am pissed about the garbage they left everywhere!!!  Could tell from the tire tracks they just fished out of the drivers door and left jerky wrappers, chip bags, cigarette packs, beer cans.  I was PISSED!!!    I know this is one of the most talked about topics that anger outdoors people, but i've never had to clean up someone elses mess where i normally fish.  How do adults think its perfectly fine to just chuck things out the window?  Would be a great eye-opener for these same a-holes to take their kids swimming in the summer (providing they have kids) and have the kids climb out of the water with a chip bag clung to their back.  Maybe then will they realize being that being ignorant pigs isnt the best way to go through life.

Rant over.

This is a pretty common theme when March starts to roll around. Warm weather more people come out to ice fish and lots have no respect for  the ice. The north end of turtle lake looks like a garbage dump by the end of the season and it's pretty much litter of coffee cups, beer cans and minnow packaging. Tobin gets its fair share of litterbugs too.

around where i fish it gets bad last year i had to leave a couple blocks of wood that my shack sat on that froze in and i told mylocal co an he said leaving untreated wood isnt an offence of any kind and that he didnt care but the litter everywhere else was a concern. so what started happening was the last shack off the lake recieves the litter ticket for the entire area which was myself i was pretty pissed i picked up all the litter around me from everyone else that was around and fought my ticket and told them i wasnt paying its just pretty sad when one person has to be responsible fo everyone elses sh*t. i would have gladly spent more time trying to get my wood out of the ice but the ice was in such bad shape i was nervous just walking on it .  this year i already have myy shack back at home and cleaned up most of the entire bay i was in which i did the other night.  but the thing that is the worst is when people catch fish and keep them on the ice under there shacks and leave them there and forget about them then when they move you see a limit of 2# walleyes that ended up rotting away and being wasted i dont bother to do anything other than take some pictures of the fish and then find the shack that they were under get a pic of it just to cover my butt.  alot of people pass blame and say it was the next guy. my shack stays on the same spot all year if i want to fish else where i fish outside and there is never anything wasted .  its all the people that go out to party and fish i like drinking beer too but not when im on the ice fishing i think its just as well left at home and i dont think its that hard to have a garbage bag in the truck to put any garbage you have from the day in it , and the beer cans that people leave  i will gladly pick up and recycle you get money bacl for em why not use it to get more beer or buy fishing equipment thats my rant and two cents anyhow.

tight lines everyone
