Things To Do While Waiting For Ice

Many of us are bored spitless waiting for ice.  In the spirit of brotherhood and to help for our fellow man, let's make a list of suggestions to help us play the hand that the hijo de puta el Nino has dealt us.  My list follows:

1.)  Learn to play the violin.
2.)  Read "War and Peace".
3.)  Attempt to beat your personal best vis a vis number of beers consumed in a 24 hour period.
4.)  Same as number 4, except bottles of Old Grandad.
5.)  Same as number 3 except beer and bottles of Old Grandad.
6.)  Build an unlicensed nuclear reactor in your basement using nothing but a smitty sled, two tip-ups and a flasher.

I have more suggestions, but I'm almost out of beer.  I've only got 40 cans left and I'll need WAY more than that by tomorrow at this time...  Remember:  "Records are made to be broken..."

3. Attempt to make enough money to support family.
4. Investigate new fishing opportunities (on line) near future home.
5. Play harmonica, sing, and host a weekly open mic.
6. Help take care of 89 year old mother.

Back up plan,bunny hunting with Bella my beagle,late goose season, late flintlock season,late archery,maybe even take the 22. out and shoot a couple squirrels that got me excited in bow season. They can be annoying. Oh yea there's always a ton on things to do around the house.  Boy I miss the ice,that keep me from working so much.

Fish the pay lakes for trout

1. Find something to snowblow. Maybe leaves? It figures I'd buy a snowblower for the warmest winter on record.
2. Grow an iceburg to fish on.
3. Teach wife how to snowblow. In case it really does snow.....while I'm fishing on my iceburg!

Been hunting ducks & catching some nice perch At the big O. Doves & smoke pole opens day after x mas. We usually dont get safe ice in the Berks co. area till mid Jan. Although I have all ready been out earlier

Someone gave me some beautiful back strap from a buck he shot (archery). I turned it into one hellacious batch of jerky. My plan was to take it on the ice but I fear it won't have a prayer of lasting that long. Goes well with the cheese  I smoked with it. I plan to use capt. crappie as my depth finder this season.         Just kidding Fred; hope to see you out there on safe ice! I'm moving to Chester Co. so I'll be a bit closer to the lake in question.
