Thanks man!  I hope they like them!  I used some Dave Genz combos to keep costs down on these ones.

I'd like to place my order for a Budweiser. My buddy would love that Pabst  one.

There are a few places that make them for selling right now, but they are $$ and don't appear to be the best rods.  :)  But if I ever decide to make more, I'll keep that in mind.  The PBR and Mich Golden Light taps were hard to find for a reasonable price.  But Budweiser is much more readily available   ;)

Those are awesome. I've never seen that before. Can any blank be used?

I would imagine that any blank could be used.  I picked a combo with a foam handle that was easy to cut off.

Oh yeah they make another beer called " Morning Wood" lol      Really nice work man, anybody would be happy to own one of those!!
Why do things today that can be put off till tomorrow, or next week???? Let's go Ice-fishing!!!!

Very interested in how you attached them and where you got the reel mounts.... $60 doesn't seem too bad if you figure the tapper is going to cost you $20-$30.... not sure what the other parts run.

I bought the taps on eBay for $10 each. The reel mounts I got thru Janns Netcraft...but ebay has them a few bucks cheaper

http://www.jannsnetcraft.com/plate-reel-seats/023045200006.aspx

I bought the rods thru a friend at sportsmans guide for her cost. I have $25 - $ 30 into each tap rod total with materials. You are right on $60 not being too bad, but that is without a reel...and the rods he uses arent the best. I removed the endcaps, drilled out the tap handle, then used epoxy to attach the rod blank and end cap back on. Drilled holes in the reel plates and attached them to the taps with stainless steel screws.

If I were to ever make more to sell, I think I would get into wrapping my own rods. Why not make something completely unique and one of a kind =) but I have always been more into building stuff then buying whenever possible...

Not as cool as ice rods, but built this yesterday too for my sister in law.  She saw this on etsy:

After conversing with my brother, he said it should really be wider for what they wanted to use it for.  So I built this

Anyone else make any cool presents this year?
