orange costco tents
« on: Dec 26, 2015, 07:28 PM »
I have a old king fisher from there. Has treated me well for 8 years . Now where the eye bolts comes out the side have worn out the cloths on the sides.  Looking at getting new one from there just not sure if quality is the same. Or unless some one knows where I can get it fixed. My poles fall out when I take the tent down and I have to put them all back in when i put it up again..

Thanks and maybe see you out  on the mountain

I actually just got one of these from under the Christmas tree. Haven't fished in it yet but set it up out in the yard today. Material seems quite heavy and compared to the Eskimo tents I have been in I would say there was less daylight shining through the Costco tent. Seems well made to me anyways. Planning on visiting the mountain a few times in the next week so if you see an orange pop up that looks brand new stop by for a tour!

If it is the Fish Inn from Costco it is a great product. The only problem I had with mine was the bag that holds the tent was a little on the small side.  I had a smaller 6X6 tent that had a bigger bag so just switched them around. Mine also came with half a dozen spare windows. The best part is Costco ships them to your door no charge and it only took about 4 days.
Old fishermen never die, they just smell that way.

I have the double pop up tent from Costco. Quality is great and you can't beat the price. I even broke a few poles last year after trying to put a frozen tent away, which was my fault, and the company that makes them sent me 4 free replacement poles after I contacted them and let them know what had happened. They also told me that I had a lifetime warranty because I purchased it from Costco.

I had a "Fish Inn" pop up from Costco. It was very well made and durable. As good a pop up as any I've been in or seen especially for the price at the time. The only reason I don't have it now is I switched to a flipover (also a Fish Inn) only because I prefer the flipover style. As mentioned earlier the bag for the pop up is small to repack it in but I just didn't repack in the bag.

Frazer and Brian both have made mention of exactly what I was about to post regarding my double Fishinn.  I would also like to add, we ended up buying a $25 Xmas tree bag to put our shelter in.. We can also put a few other items in the tree bag like buckets and tackle boxes etc.  It kind o bulky, but does the trick to keep everything in one place as you drag the bag out on the the ice with the sled or whatever you are using.
Can't wait to hit the ice tomorrow for my first time this season.  ;D

Just another reason to love costco.  Went there today she said she could look back to 2009 to find receipt  and basically if not electronics or jewelry I could return it. Just don't know if I should stay with a big one or go smaller

Those tents had some issues when they first came out years ago (i.e. breaking vinyl windows, some bad stitching and such i believe) but the new ones are great. Probably the best bang for your buck as far as pop up are concerned. I'm gonna pick one up tomorrow if the saskatoon store has them in stock and maybe even splurge for that good pelican 75 sleigh to pull behind the snowmobile

Like Saskpolaris, II had same issues with my blue kingfisher. broken windows, eyelets letting go and material wearing thin. Thanks for the info! It will be getting returned for a new one. I hate finding a parking spot at Costco, but a free replacement tent sounds worthwhile!

They used to as recently as last year. They don't seem to have them anymore. I also noticed that the website for the "Fish Inn" shelters does not show them either. It's too bad as I have a fairly new one and it works very well. Has lots of room in it, including headroom and fish able area.
