I'm heading to Sylvan on Thursday.

Iced Sylvan today, 5-7" of ice near the dam. Fishing was slow until about 9:30am. Caught mostly stockers (10-14"), we did get 1 rainbow that was 19". Caught 4 brookies, biggest was 14". -8f when we got to the lake at 7:30.
Jiggin up jumbos!

Nice Westsloper, I can't wait to get out there even if it is for stockers.

I hadn't heard of Sylvan Lake until now. What do you do go to the Minturn Exit to get to it? Or out of Eagle?
Good job on the Catching part of Fishing.

South out of Eagle, up brush creek. Road ends at the lake in the winter. The cool thing about the lake is they have small heated cabins for rent year round. I think they're like $60 a night and most of them sleep 5-6.

Sylvan is a nice little lake --- I fished it over the 4th of July weekend, and got some chunky bows and browns.  I've wanted to rent one of those cabins for a while...maybe this year.  How is the road up to the lake this time of year?
Flags up, gentlemen!!!

The roads plowed and well maintained in the winter. Definitely check out the cabins, its a cheap fun weekend.

Thanks for the info. Might try it out and rent a cabin at the same time.
