Crappie end of the season
« on: Mar 31, 2015, 12:10 PM »
SL Victoria and Whisper Sporticus made it out on Sat. for some crappie and bass.  Victoria has not made it out much this year so it was good to have her with us.  Sporticus managed to get into the crappie with his jig rod and thinks that is the new best thing.  He has jigged in the past but never really got the hang of it.  He got into the crappie and now its going to cost me because now I am going to have to get another flasher. :pinch:

The Highlight of the day for me was the kids WORKING TOGETHER to put out and pu tipups    Thats right up there with the end of diapers and car seats!!!

In the end we kept enough for a good feed and headed home for a fish fry.

We are hoping to make it out a least one more time before the edges are too far gone.

Catch em up!

I use pancake batter, they come out like fish and chips batter.  We also soak them in sprite for half hour or so however I don't think you really need to.

Wow, that fried fish looks good. Crappie is so not crappy!

Neither the season or the fish ended crappy  ;)  besides the season's not over yet...get out your planks!

Butter flavored Crisco...never thought of that!

Very proud, it has been a great season for us.
