Mines been running great for 25 years now...

And she does double duty popping fence post holes and decks during the off season...

2 inches a second...

I would not trade it for anything made today.....

I had horrible luck with Eskimo Customer service..  I bought a new HC40... It wouldn't start so I called CS and they gave me the numbers of a couple of service centers.. I called one and he didn't have anything to do with Eskimo and I called another one and he said he would work on Eskimo Augers..  I drove an hour and a half round trip and when I got there the Manager of the store told me they don't work on Propane augers and that they really didn't have any deal with Eskimo to do warranty work on augers.. So I called Eskimo and they gave me 5 more companies that supposedly worked on their stuff.. I called all 5 and all 5 didn't know anything about Eskimo and didn't even know what I was talking about..I'd aske them if they worked on Eskimo Augers and they were all like "Huh, we don't work on any augers".. I pressed Eskimo on it and they got pretty crappy about it....Eva asked me what I wanted her to do and I told her I wanted them to give me the contact of someone that actually works on Eskimo equipment instead of giving me the run around....Finally they did arrange for Service work at the First place I drove to..(Why didn't they do that in the first place).... By that time I had torn it apart and gotten it running myself....

Bottom line is I wouldn't buy an Auger from Eskimo unless you confirm that the service centers in your area will actually work on their stuff.... I live in Michigan close to Lake St Clair, Saginaw Bay and I am sure there are 10s of thousands of ice anglers in my area...It's not like I am in the boonies... It was pretty obvious to me that Eskimo doesn't do any coordinating with their supposed service centers and basically just pulls number out of a hat....You can always send it in but then you are dealing with delays and shipping companies...

I've heard that their tie down stakes for pop-up shanties are really sharp and well made. Is this true?

They work really well, can't believe how easily they screw into the ice....unless your buddy breaks the point off them for you...then a cordless drill is needed to get them started.

90% of the Eskimo issues are with the propane augers, the rest are gas recoils, leaking this, leaking that. These last things can happen in shipping, sitting too long in the store, change in alltitude, and the biggest, built on a Friday or a Monday. Stikemaster and Jiffy have all the same issues. The kicker here is CS, and the prez needs to know about this. People need to e-mail or call the big wigs or CS managers or this will never change.

You still never said what the customer service person said when they thought you were on hold that p*ssed you off, so what was said?  How long has your auger been gone back to them?

Jimmy Duarte is on the line for you AGIN and he sounds like a real winner, I don't know what's the matter with these guys that fish. I was calm and spoke to him like a grown up.
They have had my auger over a week almost 2, with no calls and didn't return my call.

It did take me a few days too get a chance to take auger too ups drop off, I was busy working.
Eskimo wouldn't pay for ups to pick it up at my house.
The ice is gone here now but it broke down over a month ago though.

My brother in law has a 30 year old Eskimo auger runs like a champ. His brother bought a new one last year. It is indeed junk. Recoil came out twice. Leaks gas. Hard to start. Times have changed and so has quality.

thanks for keeping us up to date jimmy!
sounds like some real winners in their customer service department. the odd thing is, the CS wonders whats wrong with you instead of whats wrong with him/her thinking you have a problem in your tone/words.
the worst part is the lack of common courtesy about letting you know whats going on. seems more and more common these days.

I have a 15 year old Jiffy 3hp that does the exact same thing.

I can't compare Eskimo's ice anchors to any other brand because I never used anyone else's but I have no complaints about them, they screw in very easily.
