Neals Pond????
« on: Mar 04, 2015, 11:29 AM »
I was wondering if anybody knows how the pike fishing is at Neals and if there's public access? Any information would be appreciated...

there is a public access at the southern end that's been plowed most of the winter. Havnt been out in a while so can tell you for sure. There are pike in there, some big one have been taken but not in a few years. You will probably catch a few snakes, but if you want a hog your better off on the CT river right next door.

Hit Neals today. A solid 16 inches of snow on the ice. Hard traveling on foot. Fished from 1 pm till 5 pm. Numerous pickerel, a half dozen jumbo perch plus some throwbacks, and one 30" pike. Weighed 5#. Besides the beautiful day it was my nephews second time out ever, both with me, and he landed every flag. Including the pike. No better feeling than watching a young one become hooked on the hardwater.. We may not have hammered them but a day I will never forget.
