Was sick this weekend so I didnt get out myself. Most of the reports I have heard first hand was that it is still pretty slow, but some fish are finally starting to bite. Still tons of marks and not a lot of biters though. Further north seems to be better still.  Fish have been a lot more cooperative for those getting out onto the bay.

I would love to get myself out on to the bay at least  once this winter. I have never been. I dont think i would venture out there by myself without knowing the conditions or where to go. Same with Erie.

I dont have any on ice transportation, so I usually walk out from the mouth when I fish the "bay"   It's about 3/4 mile walk out to channel island from sunset ave.  This late in the winter, fishing is usually just as good in the mouth area though so I dont bother with the walk.

There is a DNR boat launch on Patterson rd. .. but it is a LONG walk out to the mouth from there. I will PM you with info on another spot with limited parking and some special considerations you have to take that cuts the walk down 70%.
