Another Long Ice Season!!

    Am I just being overly optimistic or will this extended cold weather give us good ice until the end of March?
Knee replacement , last season kept me home March and April.   So with my super new tungsten/titanium knee I am vegging while waiting for above zero temps.   How late do you think we will be on the ice for "Last Ice" this season.   All the slush in the north country has frozen!!

Heck, there could be a chance of ice fishing on Red Sox opening day!!!

if this snow keeps up even sleds will get stuck, on foot forget it I hiked 4 football field lenths on massy to get to a new spot dragging a plastic sled almost had a heart attack and I still didn't reach the honey hole but fished none the less and I had snow shoes I love to fish but its getting nasty if your fishing on foot you deserve to to get a throphy trout

I hear that, conditions have been tough for sure. Last time snowblowing I cleared all the snow from around the Nitro... thinking about hooking her up and blowing town to Lake Dale Hollow for some pig smallies.

All the money I saved so far from ice fishing weekends I put back into open water...already scored 3 new falcon rods and 3 1,000 yards spools of seaguar flourocarbon ...sad because I love ice fishing but I beat myself up too many years to do it again this season

    I hear you Jibbs    But think how long it will seem , till open water, if we don't get to go ice fishing.

I'm looking out the windows now dick...hate staying indoors ...lately Saturday's consist of big pallet fires with the crew and cocktails..all decked out in ice fishing gear...haha...March will be better..heck if it would get into the 30's I would trudge out there...school vaca next week...ill find something

Dick, maybe this March will be like the March we had 3-4 years ago. We were fishing on 18 + inches of solid ice  in mid -march with temps in the 50's. That week the temp went to 75 and there was open water the next weekend. Better get out there soon before we have a warm March and the ice is GONE! ??

Last year we even ice fish the first week of April and may do it again the way the temps are going. Some areas have 2 feet of ice.

I will still be ice fishing April 1 unless things change big time. April 11 was the last time last year. In CT now getting ready to head to Cabellas and invest some more money. Hats off to anyone that is out there.

   Denny,   Mary say's I can't go to Cabelas!    But in March she will bring me to the coast to watch sea birds and a carefully supervised trip to the Main Cabelas
