Visiting New Found Lake For first time
« on: Jan 20, 2015, 10:59 AM »
Hello yall

I am going up to new hampshire for a weekend of skiing at a familys friends house. The house is right on New Found lake in Alexandria. I am hoping to get out one morning early and do some ice fishing. Its a big lake and heard great things about fish in here. I do not know a thing about the lake, and have only been ice fishing a handful of times in Mass. and maybe caught a few decent size bass and a small rainbow trout.

Ive done some research and it looks like the best fishing is on the northern part of the lake (opposite from where I will be).

Ive always just used shiners and gone down a few feet ( I have only fished small ponds that do not get very deep)

Any additional help with anything will be appreciated. Just trying to get out Thursday morning for a couple hours before heading off to the mountain

Thanks

Plenty of advice on this thread. Dress warm, it's ALWAYS windy. Most folks try to set up in 30' of water.
