If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.

Great catch. Did you see or have any other hits? Tipping those spoons with crappie or walleye minnows?
Thats awesome to see them walleye.  Still shocked about them being on spoons. That might what I'm missing.

Had a few come in,,quite a few hits,,most were little perch I think,,The little walleyes inhaled them,,like pirannas.whole minnow and half spoon in their mouth,Never even got the aqua view out, probably should have,,Tipped them with a whole crappie and fathead,,what ever I grapped from minnow bucket..Ive always jigged with rapalas ,thought id change it up this year.Seems to b working so far,,we will c.

I live in the midwest now but have fond memories of fishing in New England as a kid.

Yes i was on maxi. I set up in 11 fow, after darkness set in, i pushed up into 8-9 fow ontop of the weedbed. Will be back tomorrow or the next day to try it again. Waiting for this pressure system to change and winds to change direction. Im not a fan of the "east winds" lol.

I'd like to get out and try Maxi this weekend.  Do you fish within walking distance or is the ice thick enough out there to take machines/wheelers?  If anyone has any general Maxi location tips (parking/bait shops/weedbeds) I'd be awfully appreciative.   :icefish:

Several areas to park and walk out there is public launch on west side, academy bay on north east, beach house parking lot north west and the channels extreme south east end,  bait barn is on county road 14b off of Hwy. 17 north of Culver  either follow the crowd or look at some topo maps.   I have yet to see any machines as of today but I will be  taking mine this saturday if that tells you anything....

Fished there today. Went out at about 2:30 pm. There was a small group of guys in the first deep hole right by the Public Ramp on the West side of the lake.  Drilled a couple holes near them.  Ended up catching a dozen baby perch nothing else.  Had some tip ups set on one of the big drop offs in 10 -20 fow... Nothing bit.  I dunno.  I'm still too much of a wuss to walk out in the middle by myself. If anyone is looking for a fishing buddy I'm available.
