Fishin' and socializin'
« on: Dec 30, 2005, 09:26 PM »
Got out to Lockport with perch pounder around 9:00 and wandered down to the ice where about 30 people were already fishing.  Saugers and goldeyes were popping up all over.  Met an IS fisherman and hunter, Swayze, who chatted with us for about 3 hours while we all hauled in and released dozens or scores of saugers and goldeyes.  I think our total just between PP and me, was around 80 fish.  Swayze was no slouch either, so between the 3 of us, we were well over 100.  What a hoot - 3 hours of non-stop action!
Here's Swayze:

Perch pounder and I then went to Kingfisher lake in Bird's Hill park to wet our lines in some clearer water, and ran into Thriller:

And Brown Trout, Fishguy and Steven who are mostly on other sites:

Fishguy and Thriller had both caught trout today, but all we got was one bite, no fish.
Another interesting day on the ice, got fish and met other fishermen.   :) :)

Happy New Year to everyone!  ;D We were out at Lockport Dec. 30 around 11 am, must of been about sixty two people at the Locks (I count as two  ;D )! Sauger and Goldeye action was great. I must warn everyone though that if you go stay on the beaten path. That same day one of the guys I was with decided to go there in the early evening with a buddy. His friend strayed about three feet off the path and fell through up to his neck! It was a scary situation I was told...no doubt! Be cautious and stay safe if you decide to go to Lockport.

Thanks for the chit chat one the Ice skiff and perch pounder, it was informational as well.  I'll have to post the browns and Rainbow I caught at King Fisher.  Sorry BrownTrout, the Picture you took is the first of 27 on my non digital camera.  Thats why I should always have "The Digital" on me!

Sure are attractive fish, Swayze, glad you got more than just a single bite, and none on the ice!
