mbrattler, all the action at the Locks is on the west side along the concrete wall where the boats come through in the summer. Been very mild and I suspect the Red's flow has increased making for VERY iffy conditions there. Take extreme caution and watch the young ones. I will be out there tomorrow morning to have a go at the goldeye and will post my findings.

Leaving the young one at home is probably the best idea.  The ice looks like swiss cheese, with at least one very large hole.  If you have an ice chisel or axe, take that, you won't need an auger.  The ice for the first 30' out from the wall is solid, 14". Don't venture out beyond that!!!!
