Muck Boots???
« on: Dec 22, 2014, 07:58 PM »
I am thinking about buying a pair of the Arctic Sports. If anyone has them now what are your thoughts about them. Like them, love them or don't like them. Any thoughts are appreciated.

I would buy another set in a heart beat. Its been two years now pulling double duty as my every day work boot and weekend ice fishing here in western Montana. They are comfortable to wear all day and do keep ya warm as long as you put on some good quality wool socks. The only complaint I have with mine is the neoprene side don't hold up well to barb wire fencing. All and all you cant go wrong with them. They are kinda proud of them for price, but you get what you pay for.

I have had a pair for 4 Winters now and love them. Lightweight and warm.Trick is with them is don't wear so much sock that they are tight on your foot. I wear a wicking light pair of socks and a pair of Smart Wool socks over these and are perfect.Very easy to walk with and I have studded mine with hexhead screws and they work awesome on the ice. Just don't walk on your Wifes hardwood floors!!!

They work great. I am a lobsterman on the seacoast I fish all winter long.  keep in mind neoprine will make your feet sweat a little bit.  I use the Xtra Tuff boats myself.  XtraTuff 2's  I find them much warmer, much more comfotable, and they sell a sock thats called a Bama sock.  It will absorb all the moisture from sweat etc...  They are just around the same price as the muck boots.  But also the sole themselves withstand a beating.  I wear them almost 16 hours a day 6 days aweek and they withstand the abuse unbelievably well.  Just somthing to check out, Good Luck

I have a pair of Muck Arctic Pro's and would recommend and buy them again. Also, a pair of Kahtoola microSpikes are a great addition to the footwear.

I fish with a guy that has them and loves them. They don't fit me well so I opted for Bogs since they fit better. I don't have any complaint with the Bogs

i was thinking about them too until i asked my friend what he knew about them.
i can buy mucks at whole sale, so cost wasn't really a factor.

my friend hunts up near cadillac and his uncle and uncles son wear muck boots. they made the long steep climb and sat there for hours on snow in their blinds. both the uncle and uncles sons feet got too cold. next day they wore their normal pack boots and were fine.

not sure which version mucks they are, but must have been for cold weather.
i can ask, if interested.

Where did you see them at this price? That's better than anywhere around me.
