who cares about who is right or wrong. Regardless of the issue they are a great asset to anyone's arsenal, and this is not an ad i'm just trying to help other guys out...

Just a whole lot of claptrap to me. Big, bulky, 5 more rods and reels to deal with. Too much stuff for a walking jigger like me. I have great tip downs and tip ups too. I use them 3 or 4 times a season. If it's not above freezing they're not worth the hassle. I suppose if all you want to do it sit and wait they'd be fine. I'd rather fish.

buy  5 rat traps  and  hook them to your tip downs and they do the same thing

They come with 2 bobbers now, and an optional flag. Do the math lol.

Tip up or not, Jaw Jackers are better units anyways.

I  think your  full of  crap!  and  handing out  advice  that  will get  someone a  ticket  ...it's a  tip up  period .....  you  do not  need a  flag on any thing  to  be a  tip up  rattle  reel  is a  tip  up  a  tip  down  is a  tip up  a  tip  up  without a  flag  is  a  tip  up ...... 

 I  ADVISE  EVERYONE  THAT  DOES  NOT  "KNOW"  TO  CALL  THIER  REGIONAL OFFICE  AND  NOT  TAKE   LEGAL  ADVISE  FROM PEOPLE  ON THE  INTERNET ....

I agree with trapper... its pretty simple, call DEC.  Also it does sound like an add.... personally doesn't matter to me. I've made tons of automatic hook setters that do the exact same thing with either a hair trigger ( perch Crappie Gills) or a harder trigger for bigger fish.. for $4/unit, then add in the pole and its a max of 28$.. just make your own....
