Eskimo Shark z51
« on: Dec 08, 2014, 05:56 PM »
I just bought a brand new z51. I can only run it about 3/4 choked or it bogs down and dies. Does anyone have any suggestions on what is causing this? Thanks.

3/4 choke means it's starving for gas.  If it's brand new I'd take it back.

Are you sure the choke is actually 3/4 "ON?" Just had a fellow with the same exact problem, highly resourceful and intelligent, but he had the choke actually 3/4 OFF...and all it needed was a minor adjustment...so just double-check that butterfly plate in the carb throat first... ;)

It's got a self venting cap. Took cap completely off and tried that but no difference.

Try to turn the choke off and let it warm up before giving it any gas. Of course you will need to check the plug first as you might have fouled it out. Try another plug.
