gas lights

Does anyone have any experience with them in an ice shack?

I picked up a vented propane heater this summer and having gas lights seems pretty convenient now.

I use a vented heater, gas lights and three burner cook stove all plumbed together with shut off valves for each line.  They all run of a 20lb propane tank and the set up works well for me.  The lights alone give off 2000 btus each.  I have one on each end of an 8x12 shack and they give off enough light.  They are nice because they are mounted on the wall out of the way.  No lugging small tanks and changing out all the time.  Here is a picture of one end of the shack with the light on.

Gas lights are great, and give great ambiance, but the mantles are so fragile, I suspect you'll be disappointed if you move the shanty much. One good jar, and you'll be replacing mantles, and they're not cheap! $11.00 and change at a local supplier, $40. per 6-pack here:  http://www.gas-lights.com/inMantles.html

Mine are made by MR heater, and the lights are around $60 and two  tie on mantles will run you around $5-$6.  You can get them online.  You can get the pre formed or the tie on mantles.  I prefer the tie on ones.  Sometimes they break when I haul the shack, and sometimes they don't.  Depends how rough the lake is and how fast I want to get there :)
