Reservoir Lake
« on: Feb 21, 2014, 10:10 PM »
Has anyone been up to Reservoir Lake up above Bloody Dick Creek?  We used to get a lot of 12-15 inch brookies up there, and the ice lasts a lot later than it does on Clark Canyon.

Does Creek River flow into that?  ;)

There is this thing called Google search that brings up all kinds of interesting facts if you use it.

Bloody Dick Creek (Beaverhead) - creek named for an Englishman living there in the 1860s.

As seen here... http://montanahistory.net/placenames/

And here is a map showing the place.

Bloody Dick flows into Horse Prairie Creek, which flows into Clark Canyon.  The Big Hole drainage is just over the hill from Reservoir Lake.  If you fish Reservoir this time of year, they are usually near the bottom in water 18 to 35 feet deep, and they are HUNGRY.

And I was poking fun at the redundant name.

Easy peasy, if you have a snowmobile.  And the guys fishing it now are probably going to be mad that I posted it.
