3 Wheeler
« on: Feb 18, 2014, 01:30 PM »
Hello, Looking at getting a Honda 3 wheeler for my ice machine. I know they aren't the best but they fit in my budget and needs.

What I'm wondering is would a  Honda 110 3 wheeler have enough power to haul me and pull my fish trap guide and gear ?

I see alot of 185 and 200 are used but might might have a lead on a 110 local

Any suggestions ?

Thanks

As long as your not a real big guy I don't see why it wouldn't ,put chains on the rear tires and a ski on the front and you should be good to go

Personally I'd just buy a beater snowmobile... In my neck of the woods they're a lot cheaper than a 3 wheeler which usually carry that "nostalgia" price tag.

I have a friend that has a  Honda 110 3 wheeler like the one you're describing.  As long as the snow is not too deep or the banks getting on/off aren't too steep, it should work for you.  I am a pretty big guy and it pulls me up the steepest hills but does get a little light in the front end.  Good luck with it if you decide to get it.
Mark it 8 dude

Thanks for the replys,

I'm 6'  200 lb

We don't get much snow....its always less on the ice or crusted over good enough to be hard.

A lot of the season we are loading / unloading in the parking lot and useing the boat ramp to get on the ice.

Id like to be able to put it in the back of my pick up and not pull a trailer.

Hi Burkie and welcome to the site. If you are planning on registering (getting a sticker for it) in Iowa you will need a bill of sale from the seller. You can download/print this form from the Iowa DNR websiite. Some people will not provide a bill of sale if they don't know the history of the vehicle. I once bought a 4 wheeler with a bill of sale but had it confiscated by the DNR when it turned out the seller did not know it had previously been stolen.

All I can say is give it a try.  Where I'm at snows not real deep but with a little slush today I don't think you would of got very far.
