how to hook a minnow

when fishing for crappie plan hook or with a color jig where on the body

I usually go with a small jig with a small buckeye hooked through the lips

Welcome to Iceshanty Jig Head.  On a vertical  jig or hook just under the dorsal
fin being careful not to go too far down on the body and kill them.  On a horizontal jig or hook up through the bottom lip and out through the top lip being careful not
to go as deep as the skull and eyeballs.  Good luck.
