Marmooska Seconds ???
« on: Jan 22, 2014, 07:32 AM »
I recently ordered some Marmooska jigs from Fish307.com and was very disappointed with their quality. I would describe them as poor seconds at best. The amount of lead on the jigs varied considerably even on the same hook size and the paint job was absolutely terrible. I have some of them I purchased in individual packages that are just fine. These were bulk. Has their quality gone that far downhill ??

Before you bury a guys shop did u call him and see if they will make good.
Maybe just a bad batch. But addressing it at the source is always better then posting first.
who knows maybe this will turn into a good customer service post instead.

I bought these same jigs from Gander Mountain and they were just as you described, not of very good quality. They were in sealed factory packaging so I would NOT blame FISH307. I have bought a lot of stuff from them over the years and have not had a problem. They are getting probably the same stuff from their Distributors as does Gander Mountain. I just got my order of Bentley Tungstens and their are first rate stuff.

I was just wondering, are Marmooskas better?  Are they made of tungsten or lead?  My buddy has them.  I honestly can't tell the difference between them and my el-cheapo HT "ice flies."

I'm not upset with Fish307.com as I realize they are just distributing a product they've received. Just very surprised  and saddened by the quality of the jigs that I was shipped. I've used Marmooska jigs for years and the quality has always been good.

They are lead. The main difference between Marmooska jigs and others is the hook has a different angle on it that allows for better hook sets but even this was not consistent on the jigs I received.   :(
