Can anyone tell me where this lake is located??  I'm pretty sure it's in Day County, but I can't find it on any maps.

Thanks in advance!!!

Straight south of Webster (can't remember exactly how far, about 7 or 8 miles) on the west side of the road.  The lake comes right up to the ditch and over flows on the east side of the road.

Thanks, JB!!!  That's exactly the kind of info I was looking for.  Do you suppose it's North or South of Swan Lake?

Thanks again!

It's kinda hard to miss. The highway south of Webster goes through the middle of it. If look west you will see a barn and silo sticking out of the ice.
It seems to go from zero to hero all some have to do is lie.

That's gotta be a sight to behold.  I can hardly wait to get up there & check it out.  Does anyone have any other information as far as size, depth & structure of the lake.  I know it has special regualtions.  Does anyone have any fishing reports for Reetz???

Thanks!

I fished there a couple of winters ago.  It was one of those days when I could see a bunch of nice perch below me but just couldn't get them to bite.  There are some trees right out from the boat ramp, thats where I saw all those fish.  Then walked out about 300 yards and set up camp.  Caught some nice fish, 12-14" perch and couple of walleyes that were nice, but I couldn't keep them b/c of the regs.  I plan to try that again this year, its one of the places around that you have a good chance at getting that perch to mount on the wall.  Let us know how you did, thanks.

4 or 5 year ago we caught 14 1/4" perch on Reetz. They were biting well that year.  With a limit of 1 over 10" & 4 total................. ...................... ...................... ...................... ...................... ...................... ......
There SHOULD be some wall Perch in there by now. :o

I've heard Reetz is an excellent trophy walleye and very nice perch fishery - but have never fished it.  It would be nice to bounce over there from Waubay sometime and give it a whirl - I might just have to do that.  I also wouldn't be surprised with what I've heard/read about Reetz that the next state record perch doesn't come from there...

One of my friends has a 15" wallhanger from Reetz from about 3 or 4 yrs ago.  I usually try to get out there once or twice a year to try my luck.  I caught a 14" perch there but threw it back because I just had to get a 15 or better to show up my buddy.  I am going to start keeping those 14"ers and hopefully have enough someday for a nice stringer mount or something.  I will be getting up there after xmas for at least one day.  Maybe this is the year. ;)2

Fished Reetz about five years ago and we caught some of those nice big jumbos.  In fact, the perch bite was so good that the three of us were only there for about an hour and had our 15 fish.  I recall catching and throwing back some fish over 10" to comply with the regs.  Of course, that was a few years back.  Presumably, there have got to be some real giants in there now.  I have also heard reports of good walleye fishing during the summer, with fish in the 5-7 lb. class common.  The beautiful thing is that the restrictions are so tight that few people fish it.  As a consequence, you have a fishery that sees a fraction of the pressure and a true potential for trophy walleyes and perch.  I need to get back there this winter and give it a try.  I wouldn't mind seeing a few others try it first, because I have no idea what the ice conditions are like.
