Vexilar fl8 help needed
« on: Feb 08, 2014, 06:05 PM »
I have an old fl8

Appears to work fine

I fish 15 feet over silt bottom

When I increase gain so I can see my jig dot....the bottom reflection gets pretty red and wide ...and I believe I lose the bottom two feet of water  in the red clutter

Once the jig enters that zone it disappears into the reds.   and I still need a few more foot of line to reach bottom

Any tips on adjustment?

Thanks Danny

If there are weeds you could be marking them not the bottom.

don't have the gain set so high.... I usually have my gain set so my jig is a thin green line or flickers when i jig it

Being optimistic but it could be a bunch of fish. What transducer are you using. As said, just enough gain so you can barely see your jig.
Don't fall in. Unless it's a big one.
