The NGPC fish sampling surveys say that there are walleyes IN the W...but it would be very understandable for anyone catching them to remain tight-lipped, with it being a metro-area lake and all.

Agree with Cota.  I've fished wehrspann several times.  There are walleye in there but the numbers are much better in Wannahoo.  You have better luck catching crappie or catfish at Wehrspann than walleye.  If you're lookin for walleye, I'd make a day trip and drive a couple hours north!
I thought I had the catch of a lifetime...then I threw her back so I could spend more time fishing  ;)

I saw pics of the 12lb walleye and talked to the guy who got it he put it back. My buddy catches 3-4 walleye every winter but never keeps them I know they are in there but good luck finding them!

Sure they are in their BUT few and far between.  I've fished it 3 times in the last 2 weeks for walleye and not a single one...just saying.

Fished it last night 4 til 9 with no action. Used tip ups and jigged spoons.  Trying elsewhere on Sat.

The W DOES have a few really nice eyes in it and even more big blue cats.  Sadly, these fish are far and few between.  It's takes years to figure these fish out and I have never had a limit of either in a day of all monsters.  You have to size way up on bait and be ready to go home with nothing.  I have gone once to the W this year with "ok" success... One eye over 21 inch and a 15 lb blue.  I have yet to see anyone in the "hot spots" so I'm not to worried for these fish.  My "help" would be to get a big group together and put out the max # of tip ups for an evening/night bite.  Cover as much water as possible and repeat if no success is found.  My gold nugget for all is that these fish are NOT in the deepest water in the lake.  Good luck to all!
