Fishable ice in southern ME?
« on: Dec 10, 2005, 01:29 PM »
I want to drive around tmra and look for some fishable ice. Does anybody know any ponds in southern ME that have safe ice yet? Any info would be great. Thx!

I am curious as well, but just may have to drive around and find out for myself.  I certainly have the itch.

I don't know of any just yet, but I suspect a few of the smaller ones will be read REAL SOON. Its time to start checking them out. Number One Pond in Sanford is fairly well covered over and must have some ice because it supported the snow fall we had on Friday (at least a foot). Unfortunately the ice that will form around that slush will be weeker than the good clear solid stuff, so be careful out there!

there's safe ice in southern maine, just gotta watch whose toes you step on getting out on it...lots of slush...drilled about a hundred holes...should freeze tight tonight on many of the ponds in York county...
It's all about Karma.....
